Caramel Pears

6 pears

¾ cup sugar

2 teaspoons butter

1 cup heavy cream

Preheat oven to 475 degrees.  Peel, quarter and core pears; arrange in 1 layer in buttered cake pan.  Sprinkle with sugar; dot with butter.  Bake for 15 minutes, basting once.  Pour cream over pears; bake for 2 minutes longer.  Serve hot.  Yield: 6 servings.
