Orange French Toast

2 eggs

1 teaspoon grated orange rind

juice of one orange

1 tablespoon sugar (or more, depending on sweetness of orange)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

8 slices of French bread

 

Beat together all ingredients except bread.  Dip bread into mixture.  Fry bread in butter.  Top with powdered sugar.  Serve immediately. 

Serve with sliced country ham for a wonderful breakfast.

Combine lettuce, tangerines, onion and dressing; toss together lightly.  Combine butter, salt and walnut halves in skillet over low heat.  Stir until walnuts are crisp.  Top with walnuts.
